100% Organic Ceremonial Grade Cacao (Criollo)
- Boil the kettle and let it sit while you make your cacao. You want the water to be hot, not boiling.
- Put 20g of shaved ceremonial cacao into your blender.
- Add 80-120ml of plant mylk (nut milk, coconut milk, oat milk etc).
- Add 1 tsp honey to sweeten (other options include coconut sugar, maple syrup or agave nectar).
- Add 100-150ml of hot water.
- Blend for 10s or until frothy.

Cacao oh how I love thee.
True story.
I was over coffee. Tried various caffeine free teas. Was very uninspired. I kept dreaming of coffee but was over the gritted teeth feeling it gave me.
I kept seeing a friend plugging her cacao stories and I gave it a try. It was love at first sip.
I have two big mugs of cacao after a litre of water every morning. The first mug I drink with my meditation practice and journal writing. Cacao is a wonderful intention setting aid.
I drink mine made like an instant coffee. Two scoops, spoon of honey, off the boil hi vibe water and topped with soy milk.
For me it is heaven in a mug.
I get a steady release of theobromine. Which is a lovely gentle stimulant with no nasty side effects.
I drive an hour to work, am on my feet for 5 hours teaching full on little kiddos and am not hungry until between lunch to about 2 pm.
It’s a love affair I can’t see ending soon.
Ps. Most Cacao is purchased through MLMs. I was more than stoked when I saw Rebecca Ferrier adding it to her store. Just recieved my second 1 kg bag from Bec. I was sweating it as I’d run out Tuesday but came home to it Tuesday arvo delivered. Phew. Rebecca’s service is prompt and ever so friendly.
